Freshlink
Foods is a frozen sausage manufacturer, based in Glasgow in Scotland.
The business was founded in 1938 as a manufacturer of chilled meat products
and rapidly grew to become a major supplier to the Scottish market. Expansion
continued and under the Mackellar Watt brand the company’s products
became well known throughout the UK. The manufacture of frozen sausages
commenced in 1982.
Freshlink Foods became part of the Irish Food Processors group in July
2004 following the acquisition from Freshbake Foods.
Freshlink Foods is now the largest private label frozen sausage supplier
to the UK retail market. The total customer base covers both retail and
foodservice customers, these customers are supplied with 320 tonnes of
frozen products under both private label and ‘Unger’ brand
each week.
The factory employs 120 people and over the past year Freshlink Foods
has invested very heavily in people training and development. There is
a very strong team culture in Freshlink Foods which prides itself on giving
customers the highest quality and safest products, at very competitive
prices which is reflected in the company’s mission statement.

Freshlink Foods operates a policy of continual investment in the manufacturing
facility and also in the team. Being part of the Irish Food Processors
group enables Freshlink Foods to use additional resources from within
the group and to share the most up to date market and manufacturing information. |
